La Batia rises at the foot of Mount Etna. The constructions go back to 1887: nothing has changed; in fact the sites have been the same, unchanged over time. Full of charm, authenticity and history La Batia organizes events and memorable experiences such as: dinners among the rows of pomegranates, the grape harvest festival, the sunsets with granita and brioche or a sandwich as people from Acireale are used to do; music and wine; oysters with Sicilian finger line dressing and cooking classes. The historical winery is the beating heart of the ecomuseum in which takes place the crushing of the grapes, the collection of the wine must and the fermentation. There is an old wine press composed of stone monoliths produced by lava and a centenarian chestnut trunck. You can admire the “Benessere di Bacco Tub” in which you can take a dip in the wine must since it has a strong antioxidant power and large wine barrels with a diameter of 3 meters for the collection of wine, still intact. A small path leads to the romantic and enchanted woods of oaks, holm oaks and pines. Nature manifests itself and leaves its mark. Lots of space among the trees for country chic events. We have created a Garden of aromas for the discovery of aromatic and officinal perennial plants also marked in braille. The “Tondo of Belvedere” is composed of cylindrical multi-level terraces, it looks like a wedding cake. From here you can admire from one side the Mount Etna and from the other side, the sea. The centenary olive-grove was a refreshment site for the nuns of the Batia and in the middle of it there is a circular seat made with lava stone to gather everybody around, a table to have breakfast or a snack. In the Mediterranean vegetable garden we plant, on a repeated cycle, the famous turnip of Aci, our slow food presidium and saffron. The Rose Garden houses 300 plants, different in colour and scent and an equipped area. There are two big parking lots that allow the entrance of 60 cars and 5 buses, and a maxi golf car is available.
The meeting room enjoys natural light through a large opening overlooking the park, spread over a surface that overlooks the barrels. The room accommodates up to 45 people for any type of event or conference.
There is the possibility of using the cellar environment to add another 20 participants. They will have the opportunity to follow the proceedings in a detached but equally functional environment through the use of a screen that replicates the conference proceedings.
