Stand Florio is the "small" Art Nouveau jewel created by the architect Ernesto Basile, commissioned by Vincenzo Florio junior, "father" of the Targa Florio, on the south-western coast of the island's capital. The complex is located along the coast of Romagnolo, a seaside resort, a few kilometers from the historic center of Palermo, the entrance to the highway, the port and the Central Station. The property also offers ample free parking available for Tourist Buses.
Stand Florio is a historic property that dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the area was an elegant meeting point for the aristocracy and the entrepreneurial class of Palermo. Among the most important buildings, Stand Florio represents a symbol of Palermo in the Belle Époque, thanks to the Florio family's commitment to integrating art, architecture, modernity and experimentalism.
After years of abandonment, vandalism and degradation, since 2018 this space has been transformed, after a careful restoration work, into a 'Contemporary Hub', a versatile place that hosts cultural, corporate and private events. The property includes a large green area with a green lawn, a garden of aromatic plants, a historic building with elegant halls, a film or theatre outdoor area with 400 seats and a modern indoor space with a total area of 400 square meters.
Stand Florio also offers good quality cuisine, which combines the Mediterranean and Sicilian tradition, with unique dishes prepared with fresh and seasonal ingredients to satisfy every customer need.
