The Borgo and its Castle rise in one of the most fascinating stretches of the countryside bordering the Roman coast, on the ruins of the ancient city of Lavinium, positioned on an excellent strategic point for controlling the surrounding area. The charm of this ancient landscape has been kept almost intact, with a surrounding 200-hectare territory that retains the original architectural layout, with various restoration interventions over the centuries. The Borgo annexed to the Castle, inhabited by the peasants of the Pratica di Mare village, was the fulcrum of numerous artisanal activities such as the processing of silk, leather and local clays.
