The conference rooms are the beating heart of the Certosa di Pontignano's conference, study and research activities.
All located in the splendid and central setting of the Conversi cloister, the four rooms can host up to four independent events, or be connected by videoconference to host a single large event. Obviously the rooms are equipped with all the technological equipment suitable for hosting conference events, and are all connected via wired network and wi-fi to the Certosa's high-speed fibre optic connection.
Certosa di Pontignano is certainly an exclusive location for those wishing to organise congresses and conferences in Tuscany.
The Bracci conference room
This is the most important and historic conference room in the entire Certosa. The room, dedicated to Prof. Bracci, the previous owner of the Certosa, is entirely frescoed with works by the sixteenth-century painter Bernardino Poccetti, and houses, among others, the prestigious and precious "Last Supper", dated 1596.
In order to enjoy the pictorial wonders of the room, and at the same time leave it comfortable and functional for the work to be carried out, we have equipped the room with specific lights that enhance the works of the Florentine artist and an important motorised projector screen, which, when not in use, can be lowered to reveal the Last Supper in all its beauty to the eyes of the participants.
The veranda hall
Located in the old veranda room of the Certosa, this large room can comfortably seat 80 to 90 people.
The solid wood floor, the characteristic roof, and the large windows with a view of the city of Siena and the Italian garden below, which make the veranda room bright and comfortable, make it popular for lessons, summer schools or other events.
The Palio Room
Located in the quietest area of the Certosa, on the first floor of the cloister of the Conversi, the Palio room emerges directly overlooking the inner cloister of the church.
The room, which is also appreciated for its rustic character, has an old Sienese terracotta floor and a beautiful wooden truss roof, the twin of the one above the church.
The Caratelli Room
In the peaceful setting of the upper floor of the cloister of the Conversi is the Sala dei Caratelli.
This room is perfectly suited to small groups, accommodating up to 30 people. Set up in a horseshoe shape, it is suitable for small meetings and business meetings.
Its particularity is that it has a small room in front of the working room, where it is possible to organise coffee breaks or moments of relaxation between work sessions.
The smaller rooms of the Villa
Inside the main villa of the Certosa di Pontignano, all located on the ground floor, and overlooking the wonderful balcony overlooking the Italian garden, are the smaller rooms of the Certosa.
The rooms are usually in non-exclusive use for guests of the Certosa, but they can all be reserved exclusively for special events, such as weddings, gala dinners, seminars or congresses. The charm of the smaller rooms derives mainly from their essential but functional furnishings (many of the pieces are antiques or in any case period pieces) and from their position within the prestigious villa. In addition, their versatility makes them suitable for many different types of activities and uses.
All the rooms obviously have a complete audio and wire broadcasting system with recording, a video projector with a dedicated PC, high-speed fibre optic connection via wi-fi or wired technology, for all guests and speakers, and the possibility of connecting with the other larger rooms, both in video and audio.
